Hi Lisa,
I'm so excited to learn about your new position! What a great opportunity for you and for you to have even greater impact. Surely the students and teachers of Manhattan, and all of NYC, will benefit greatly from your knowledge, drive, and exemplary networking.
Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Jim Lerman
My name is Paula Tseunis and I work with professional development schools through Arizona State University and Deer Valley School District. In both roles, I am working with preservice and inservice teachers to look at education in a different light. With pre-service teachers, we are hoping to provide them opportunities to reflect on possibilities for education and to try new ideas. For in-service teachers, our district has created 13 recommendations for 21st century learning to be realized by the year 2021. I am hoping to use this site to gather ideas as well as to share what my teachers are doing in the classroom. Thank you for creating this forum!
Hey Lisa,

Thanks for the invite to your new ning. I really enjoyed our previous online dialogue and look forward to the new tech discussions. I hope your summer is going well.
Hi I am Karl I teach Physical Education in a Diploma Plus transfer school. I am hoping to stay abreast of the new instructional technologies and hopefully advocate for more technology applications in the Physical Education setting.
My name is Lindsay Angelo. I am a former NYC Educator and currently work as the Manager for NYC Sales Support for Tequipment(the SMART Board Company). I'd like to use this learning network as a tool for me to be able to learn and understand what is going on in the schools today. We provide interactive technology products to all the schools in NYC and I want to be able to listen and support each of them by providing professional development and resources for their classrooms.
Greetings from sunny Arizona. My name is Cherryl Paul and I am a K-8 campus administrator. This is my first social network.
I am a Middle School math teacher and technology coordinator. I am interested in learning about 21C skills for students. I have a vibrant Personal Learning Network (PLN) and this will be another great resource. In what might be considered spare time, I am pursuing my Masters in Education and Technology.

Hi,

I'm Beth Willette, from Lapeer, MI, where I will be teaching history at one of our high schools. I was the Teacher Consultant for our building previously, but posted into General Education so that I can implement and model ways of incorporating technology into the classroom to help all students learn and remain engaged. Before this I spent over a decade in software development in Project Management & Quality Assurance. I have also taught history at the university level, worked for a corporate training center that taught TQM and Deming to salon owners, and taught science at a school for disabled adults. I run a family ning site that keeps my family in touch (we are spread all over the world) along with Skyping, and have just started sites for the two school groups I sponsor. My 15 year-old daughter and I are in the process of creating a bilingual ning site where French and English speaking students can meet and share their cultures. I hope to have it up next week, then we'll do the same for Spanish. I look forward to collaborating and learning with and from my colleagues here!
My name is Carolyn Semet and I am a Technology Innovation Specialist with the Manhattan Office of Educational Technology. I have many years of experience with the NYCDOE working as a classroom teacher, computer cluster teacher and as an Instructional Technology Specialist. Our office is focused on enhancing teaching and learning by incorporating 21st Century skills and tools in order to develop 21st Century schools. I look forward to connecting with other educators to help bring about innovative changes in schools across NYC.
I'm a first grade inclusion teacher at PS 48 in the Bronx. I would love for this learning network to be used for functional ideas for the classroom, important events and dates at PS 48, and any new developments/policies/ideas the staff and supporters of PS 48 should know about! The education system has an unfair reputation for being stuck in the dark ages, and I'm hoping this site can help bring us into the light through the use of effective technology!
Hi, my name is Gordon Fish. I am the Technology Coordinator for PS 48 in District 6 (upper Manhattan). My main duties right now consist of running a computer lab in the school. I also offer support to everyone in the school that has a computer in their classroom. I want to use this forum as a way of communicating with other technology teachers in New York City. I am looking forward to sharing ideas and support to other technology teachers in the city.
